Preventing Eye Strain By Adjusting Your Computer Screen

Computer usage is most commonly known to include long hours of work where the user needs to stay focused in order to complete the task at hand, and with this increased workload on the computer people are beginning to notice more sever, and more frequent eye strain problems. There are several ways to combat this eye strain problem caused by long-term computer use; you can choose to physically take breaks away from your computer, or you can opt to make eye strain computer screen adjustments that will help prevent the problem altogether. Here are some computer screen adjustments you can make to help eliminate any kind of eye strain.

Adjusting the Brightness

One of the most common causes of eye strain while operating a computer is incorrect brightness settings; where the screen is either too bright, or not bright enough. If the screen is too bright then your eyes are being over exposed to light and will eventually be strained, and with insufficient brightness your eyes will have to work too hard to correct read letters on the screen, also causing eye strain. You should adjust your computer screen to be bright enough to where you can read letters and see images comfortably, but not so bright to the point that your eyes are overpowered.

Raising or Lowering Your Computer Screen

Another adjustment that should be made to your computer screen to help eliminate eye strain is screen height. If your computer screen is too high or too low then your eyes will eventually be strained because of the angle caused by the incorrect height. The perfect height for a computer screen is having the top of the LCD screen level with your eyes. This way you won’t experience any kind of eye strain while looking at your computer screen for the long hours you’re forced to work.
